Ofev
What exactly is Ofev?
Ofev is prescribed to patients suffering from disorders that lead to the development of scar tissue (fibrosis) deep within the lungs. Scar tissue tends to develop thicker and more rigid with time, which might make it more difficult for your lungs to function normally. Reduced lung function can make it difficult for a person to breathe normally. When your brain, heart, and other organs do not receive the oxygen they need, you may have further health complications.
Ofev is prescribed to patients suffering from a lung condition known as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
Ofev is also utilized in the treatment of chronic interstitial lung disease, which is characterized by progressively deteriorating scar tissue over time.
Ofev is also prescribed to patients suffering from a condition known as systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease in order to mitigate the deterioration of their lung function (sometimes called scleroderma-associated ILD).
Although there is no known treatment that will reverse the consequences of IPF or ILD, the medication known as Ofev can help delay the progression of these lung disorders.
