GRISEOFULVIN is an antifungal. It can be used to the skin, hair, and nails to treat fungal infections of those areas.

What is the correct way to take this medication?
This medication should be taken orally with a full glass of water. Take as directed, either with or without meals. Always remember to take your medication at the prescribed times. Do not take your medication more frequently than recommended by the label. Even if you start to feel better, you should continue taking your medication as prescribed and not skip any doses. Do not discontinue taking unless specifically instructed to do so by your doctor.
Have a discussion with your child's physician about the possibility of giving them this medication. There are some circumstances in which this medication may be administered, but there are also certain warnings associated with its use.
In the event that you believe you may have taken an excessive amount of this medication, you should immediately contact a poison control center or an emergency facility.

What should I do if I forget a dose?
If you forget to take a dosage, you should take it as soon as you remember it. Take only that dose if it is getting close to the time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take duplicate or additional dosages.
What other substances could react with this medication?
barbiturate medications for sleep or seizures
hormones that are produced by women, such as estrogens or progestins, as well as birth control pills
warfarin

Provide your primary care physician with a list of all the medications, herbs, over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, and dietary supplements that you are currently using. What side effects should I be on the lookout for when using this medication?

This medication has the potential to increase your sensitivity to the sun. Stay out of the direct sunlight. Wear protective gear and be sure to apply sunscreen if you can't help but be outside in the sun. Avoid using sun lamps as well as tanning beds and booths.
When you are using this medication, the effectiveness of birth control tablets may be compromised. Have a conversation with your primary care provider about the possibility of utilizing additional birth control methods.
What potential negative reactions may I have to this medication?
You should report the following side effects to your physician or another qualified medical expert as soon as possible:
Symptoms of an allergic response may include a rash or hives on the skin; swelling of the cheeks, lips, or tongue; and breathing difficulties.
delirium, blood in the urine, fever, or infection
a decrease in appetite accompanied with discomfort, tingling, or numbness in the hands or feet
a rash, redness, blistering, or peeling of skin that is associated with lesions or whites on the skin symptoms such as yellowing of the eyes or skin, spots in the mouth, unexplained weakness or fatigue
Adverse effects that, in most cases, do not need seeking medical attention (although you should let your doctor or another health care expert know if they persist or become bothersome):
dizziness
headache
nausea, vomiting
stomach discomfort
problem sleeping

Where should I store my medication, if you please?
Be sure that youngsters can't get their hands on it.
Keep the container well covered and store it at a temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius (59 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit), which is room temperature. After the expiration date, any medicine that has been used should be thrown away.
