Ansaid eye drops What is Ansaid? Flurbiprofen a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID). This drug works by lowering levels of hormones in the body that are responsible for inflammation and discomfort. Ansaid is prescribed to patients suffering from osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis in order to alleviate the accompanying pain and inflammation. There are further applications for Ansaid that are not included in this pharmaceutical reference. Information That Is Vital Using Ansaid for an extended period of time, taking large doses of it, or already having heart disease can all raise your chance of a deadly heart attack or stroke. This is especially true if you already have heart disease. Do not take Ansaid in the days immediately preceding or following a heart bypass operation (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG). Your doctor will be able to determine whether or not Ansaid is safe for you to take. Taking Ansaid in the third trimester of pregnancy might potentially cause damage to the developing fetus. When you are taking this medication, you should inform your doctor if you are pregnant or if you intend to become pregnant in the near future. There is insufficient evidence to determine if flurbiprofen is excreted into breast milk or whether it poses a risk to a breastfeeding infant. If you are breastfeeding a child, you should let your doctor know about it. The FDA has determined that anybody less than 18 years old should not use the medication Ansaid. What dosage of Ansaid should I take? Always make sure to follow all of the instructions on the label of your medication. In order to optimize your treatment and provide the best possible outcomes, your physician may adjust your dosage on occasion. Avoid using Ansaid in higher doses or for a longer period of time than is prescribed. You should treat your problem with the smallest effective dose of the medication. If you take this medication for an extended period of time, your doctor may want to examine you more frequently. Keep at room temperature and away from heat and moisture when storing. You should go through and read all of the patient information, prescription guidelines, and instruction sheets that have been sent to you. While I am under the influence of Ansaid, what should I try not to do? Avoid consuming alcohol. It may make you more likely to get bleeding in the stomach. Avoid consuming aspirin when you are taking Ansaid. Before taking any medication for a headache, cold, or allergy, make sure to see your primary care physician or a pharmacist. There are a lot of drugs that you may get without a prescription that include aspirin or other medicines that are comparable to Ansaid. Using a combination of particular products can lead to an unsafely high level of exposure to this category of drug. Examine the medication's label to see whether or not it includes aspirin, ibuprofen, ketoprofen, or naproxen. Ansaid side effects Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction: symptoms such as sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, wheezing or difficulty breathing, hives, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat are all signs of an allergic reaction. If you are experiencing symptoms of a heart attack or a stroke, such as chest discomfort that is radiating to your jaw or shoulder, abrupt numbness or weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, or feeling short of breath, you should seek immediate medical attention. If you develop any of the following symptoms, you should immediately stop taking Ansaid and notify your doctor: alterations in your vision; the first appearance of any skin rash, regardless of how small; shortness of breath (even with modest activity); swelling or fast weight gain; and any combination of these symptoms. symptoms of internal bleeding, include feces that are red or tarry, spitting up blood, or vomiting that looks like coffee grounds; Symptoms of liver disease include nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired feeling, loss of appetite, flu-like symptoms, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); symptoms of kidney disease include little or no urinating, painful or difficult urination, swelling in your feet or ankles, feeling tired or short of breath; symptoms of pancreatic disease include nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired feeling, loss of appetite, jaundice ( poor number of red blood cells (anemia) �pale skin, feeling light-headed or short of breath, rapid heart rate, difficulty concentrating; or severe skin reaction, including fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling of the skin. Indigestion, stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting; disorientation, tremors, feeling nervous; diarrhea, constipation; headache, dizziness, sleepiness; increased perspiration, itching, or rash; or ringing in the ears are some of the common side effects that may occur. What other medications could have an effect on Ansaid? If you are currently on an antidepressant, such as citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine (Prozac), fluvoxamine, paroxetine, sertraline (Zoloft), trazodone, or vilazodone, you should see your physician before beginning treatment with Ansaid. If you use any of these medications in combination with an NSAID, you may find that you bruise or bleed more readily. If you are currently taking any of the following medications, including but not limited to: lithium; methotrexate; a blood thinner (warfarin, Coumadin, Jantoven); heart or blood pressure medication, including a diuretic or "water pill;" or steroid medicine, you should consult with a physician or pharmacist before beginning treatment with Ansaid (such as prednisone). There is a possibility that flurbiprofen will interact negatively with other medications, such as prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, vitamins, and herbal treatments.
